Yes!  small plastic molecules together are formed into long strands.

Then spun and woven into fabric.

So, this makes nylon a synthetic fabric.

Yes! That why most active wear uses nylon or nylon blends that makes it stretch a little and is super comfy to wear.

So, if you’re looking for a fabric with maximum stretchiness, spandex would be the better choice.

What Is Nylon Fabric Used For?

While both materials offer some level of stretchiness, nylon fibers is know for its elasticity and resilience, compared to polyester.
Hence nylon is much preferred choice for applications where flexibility and resilience are key.

How to permanently stretch nylon?

To permanently stretch nylon, you can iron your fabric while pulling on it.

Just be careful not to pull too much as it could change the overall look of your garment.

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

  2. Not Breathable
  3. Static Buildup:it can generate static electricity, causing lint and dust your jacket.
  4. Not Biodegradable
  5. Heat Sensitivity: can melt in high temperatures, so read the care label before you toss your jacket into the dryer.

It is important that as consumer we know where and what makes our garment.

 

We should all be conscious of our usage and  think of how the longevity of the products before making an purchase.

while nylon has its merits, we should not ignore the harms petrochemical has on our body and environment.
